Make sure someone is available to take you home after surgery – you will not be able to drive for 24 hours.
Make sure someone is at home with you for the first couple of days to help you with basic activities.
When eating and drinking post surgery start slowly with small sips and light snacks to help avoid nausea and vomiting that can occur after anaesthesia and surgery.
Take your pain killers as directed – taking them before you are in pain is much better than waiting for them to act after you are in discomfort.
Elevation and ice are very effective and helpful in decreasing pain, swelling and promoting healing.
